Life before birth

❤ Hey there Better Lifers!  

In a mother’s womb were two twin babies. 

The first baby asked the other: 
“Do you believe in life after delivery?”

The other baby replied, “Of course.
There has to be something after delivery. 
Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”

“Don’t be silly,” said the first.
“There is no life after delivery.  What would that life be like?”

“I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. 
Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths.”

The doubting baby laughed.
“This is absurd!”, he said, and added:

“Walking is impossible. Everyone knows that!
And eating with our mouths?  That’s ridiculous.  

The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. 
Everyone knows that.

So life after delivery can’t ever happen. 
The umbilical cord is way too short.”

But the second baby held his ground.

“I think there is something,
and maybe it’s just different than the way it is here.”

The first baby replied:
“No one has ever come back from there. You know that.
Everyone knows that.

Delivery is the end of life,
and believing in the after-delivery takes us nowhere.”

“Well, I don’t know,” said the twin,
“but certainly we will see The Mother, and she will take care of us.”

“The Mother?” The first baby laughed.
“You believe in The Mother?  Where is she now?” 

The second baby calmly and patiently tried to explain.
“She is all around us. It is in her that we live.
Without her, there would not be this world.”

“Ha. I don’t see her, and no one ever did,
so it’s only logical that she doesn’t exist.”  

To which the other replied:

“Sometimes when you’re in silence you can hear her,
you can perceive her.  

I believe there is a reality after delivery,
and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality when it comes….”

Some people take it to be a discussion ,and metaphor,
about life after death (and before birth).
It can be.

But I think that is a limited understating, a limited point of view.

Life after death (and before birth) is only one specific form of a broader principle
that is being conveyed through this story:

There is more to life than we can understand.
There is more to life than we can see or experience.

And perhaps we simply forgot parts of the truth (or all of it)?

Every spiritual path that I know seems to suggest that.
In fact, it’s the most common cornerstone amongst them.

A Course in Miracles, for example, is all about that.
That’s the true meaning of forgiveness in A Course in Miracles -
Remembering the truth about who we are and where we are.

Practical Actionable Steps - From Information to Transformation:

While there is more to life than we can see or experience,
we can change our experience and live a happier, better, more awakened life. 

A life that is more tuned-in and synced with reality as it really is,
rather than a life limited by our beliefs about life, ourselves, and the world.

We do that through the process of Learn -> Practice -> Experience -> Transform™.

Be it through learning and practicing meditation, A Course in Miracles,
The Enneagram or B-AIR (™), or any other path you like to follow,
you can change your experience.

You can transform your life.

You’ll have to do it tough. It won’t happen by itself. 
That little willingness, that choice of yours, is needed.

But you don't have to do it alone.
